The Coles County coroner confirmed that four individuals killed in the crash of a private plane Saturday near Mattoon were all from Menomonie, Wisconsin.

The four individuals were identified as Ross R. Nelson, 46; Raimi A. Rundle, 45; Courtney L. Morrow, 36; and Michael H. Morrow, 48.

The crash occurred on a county road and into a field in Trilla between Coles and Cumberland Counties at approximately 10:15 a.m. The location is three miles south of Mattoon and just southwest of Coles County Memorial Airport.

The Cessna 180 aircraft tore through power transmission lines after which it smashed into a local road where it cartwheeled and disintegrated ending up in a farm field.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board arrived on site on Sunday to document the scene and examine the aircraft.
