Primaries today in Missouri and four other states

With less than 100 days before the November general elections, voters will head to the polls for primary elections in five states today. Those elections will be held in Missouri, Kansas, Michigan, Arizona and Washington. 

In Missouri, the Senate GOP race is a center of attention. Eric Greitens, who resigned the governorship in 2018 in the wake of a sex scandal, bids to succeed retiring Sen. Roy Blount, but he'll have to go through Attorney General Eric Schmitt and U.S. Representative Vicky Hartzler.

Missouri's progressive "squad" member, U.S. Representative Cori Bush, faces a challenge from State Senator Steve Roberts, who is betting that Bush's "defund the police" stance is too liberal even for heavily Democratic St. Louis voters.

In Michigan, another "squad" member, Representative Rashida Talib, faces three Democratic challengers.

Also, Michigan Republican Peter Meijer tries to be re-elected after he voted to impeach then-President Donald Trump.

In Washington state, two more Republicans who voted for impeachment find out their fate. Herrera Beutler's primary has eight challengers, including four Republicans. Trump has endorsed former Green Beret Joe Kent to supplant Beutler.

Kansas voters have an open race for attorneyu general that includes Kris Kobach, a former secretary of state and former candidate for governor. He's endorsed by Trump over two other GOP candidates.

In the Arizona governor's race, Trump has endorsed TV commentator Kari Lake, while former vice president Mike Pence endorses her main opponent, Karrin Taylor Robson.
