Ray Holt

Mr. Alden Raymond Holt, Jr., 86 of Murray, KY, passed away on October 30, 2022, at his home in Murray.

Born in Granite City, IL, he was the son of the late Alden Raymond Holt, Sr. and Nellie Maud (McKinney) Holt. Ray retired after 21 years of service with the United States Air Force. He was a firefighter in the Air Force and retired with the rank of Tech Sergeant.

He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Laverne (Brandon) Provine Holt of Murray, KY; children, Ronna Holt of Seguin, TX, Michael Holt, wife Marilyn Green of Murray, KY, and Charles “Chuck” Holt also of Murray, KY; stepchildren, Leslie Smith, husband Stephen of Benton, KY and Lisa Duncan, boyfriend Casey Hill of Almo, KY; brothers, David Holt, wife Cynthia of Murray, KY and Douglas Holt of Murray, KY; sisters, Judith Vaughn of Dexter, KY, Deborah Hale, husband Phil of Almo, KY, Rebecca Thompson of Murray, KY Brenda Richardson, of Murray, KY, and Sherry Holt of Murray, KY; grandchildren, William Holt and Joshua Holt, both of Charlotte, NC, Jesse Letterman of Seguin, TX, Sarah Letterman of Floresville, TX, Danielle Smith Tyler, husband Austin of Benton, KY, Zack Smith, wife Linda of Murray, KY, Olivia Duncan of Murray, KY, and Alyssa Smith of Benton, KY; great-grandchildren, Emmanuel Tyler and Mazi Katherine Tyler both of Benton, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 46 years, Shelia Nan (Schubert) Holt; brothers, Jack Holt, Charles Holt and Richard Holt; and sisters, Amber Mansker, Betty Holt, Carol Barrett, and Dorothy Wagoner.

Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at 5:15 p.m. in the chapel of the Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home. Bro. Kim Reeder will officiate.

Friends may visit with the family after 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 until the service hour at 5:00 p.m. at the Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home 713 S 4th St. Murray, KY. 42071.

Masonic rites will be held at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home. The public is invited to attend.
