Mrs. Rosemary (“Rosie’) Wendel, 88 of North Augusta, SC, formerly of Gilbertsville and Mayfield, KY, died Saturday, December 27^th, 2025, in Augusta, GA.

Rosie was born to the late Wilbur and Lotta Bernard in 1937 in Cincinnati, OH, during the historic Ohio River flood.   She married Andrew Wendel in 1958 and he preceded her in death on May 3^rd, 2010.

She was a retired office manager at Illinois Tool Works in Chicago.  Rosie enjoyed golf, painting, and travel.

She is survived by two daughters, Ruthann of North Augusta, SC, Christine of Gilbertsville, KY, and their long-term boyfriends, John and Dwayne; one son, Bernard Wendel of Ocala, FL; one brother, Donald Bernard of Lantana, FL; her grandson Anandan; and many friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Rosie was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Bernard.
Rosie’s family will welcome visitors at a Life Celebration Reception on Saturday, August 22^nd, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park Henry Ward Lodge, 116 Upper Village Drive, Gilbertsville, KY.
