Dorothy May Hughes

Mrs. Dorothy May Hughes, 98, of Marion, KY, passed away Friday, October 23, 2026, at her home. Dorothy was a homemaker and a member of Marion Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening and had a special love for her beautiful roses. She found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially spending time outdoors and watching nature. She loved watching the birds, particularly cardinals and hummingbirds, and appreciated the beauty of God's creation. Dorothy will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her love of nature, and the special memories she leaves behind with her family and friends. She is survived by her three daughters, Deborah Goddard of Nashville, TN, V. Gail Sievers (Rick) of Collierville, TN, and Michelle Hughes of Marion, KY; three grandchildren, Wesley Chad Truitt, Erik Sievers, and Jessika Sievers; and three great-great-grandchild, Brylee Sievers, Millie and Maddie Truitt. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Holeman Hughes; grandchild, Heather Elise Truitt; parents, Wilmer and Irena (Craighead) Hughes; and brother, James Hughes. Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Marion, KY, with Bro. Alex Kirby officiating.
