Joanna Grimes

Mrs. Joanna Marie (Croft) Grimes, 89, of Calvert City, passed away Friday, January 2, 2026 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.
Joanna was a faithful member for over 56 years at Reidland United Methodist Church, where she served as treasurer of UMW, and was a member of OWLS women’s group for many of those years.  She also worked in retail for Sears for over 30 years. Joanna also loved her family, cats, gardening, quilting and sewing.  She loved cooking on special occasions for her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Shirley (Tony) of Taylorsville, KY and Gayla Westfall (Mark) of Gilbertsville, KY; one brother, Charles Croft of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Kathryn Shirley Akers (David) of Taylorsville, KY, Emily Shirley Williamson (Matt) of Lexington, KY, Mason Shirley (Rachel) of Taylorsville, KY, Ragon Grimes (Megan) of Cadiz, KY, Reed Grimes of Hopkinsville, KY, Brian Westfall of Gilbertsville, KY, Kayla Westfall of Gilbertsville, KY; and eight great-grandchildren.
Joanna was preceded in death by her husband, T.R. Grimes; son, Brent Grimes; and her parents, Louis and Dolcie (Watson) Croft.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 1 PM, in the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors and Cremation Services, with Pastor’s Ragon Grimes and Katie Minnis officiating.  Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, January 8th, from 12 Noon until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
