Billy Mitcherson

Billy Gene Mitcherson, 90 of Benton, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at his residence.

Billy was born in Trigg County on December 27, 1933 to the late Jimmie Mitchuson and Gracie Cassity Mitchuson.  He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force.  Billy worked in maintenance at Kenlake State Park.  He was a jack-of-all-trades who could fix anything and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  More than anything, he loved and adored his grandchildren and greats.  Billy was a member of Union Ridge Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sue Mitcherson; two daughters, Debbie Burchett, husband Michael of Kirksey and Denise Harrison, husband Barry of Hardin; five grandchildren, Joshua Burchett (Haley), Brent Burchett (Kiah) Erik Harrison, Jada Thompson (Brandon) Jessie Harrison; four great grandchildren, Owen Burchett, Millie Burchett, Finn Harrison and Daniel Thompson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, his twin, Betty Hunter, Charlene Lyons, and Irene Compton; three brothers, Kirby Mitcheson, Holly Mitcheson and James Willie Mitcheson.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Collier Funeral Home with Rev. Samantha Hall officiating.  Interment will follow at Union Ridge Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, Kentucky.
