Bobby Dodson

Bobby Ray Dodson, age 65 of Hardin, KY passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on June 29, 2025 at 2:18 p.m.

He was born April 17, 1960 in Paducah, KY to Bobby G. and Martha Dodson.  He attended Lowes High School, and throughout the span of his life attained several degrees in the areas of law enforcement and private investigation.

To know Bobby was to know a man in pursuit of constant growth and knowledge.  He was a bible scholar, prolific writer, artist, and self taught musician.  

In his spare time, he could be found walking the creeks and hillsides searching for specific rocks or arrowheads.  He loved to tell stories to his family and friends as only he could.  

His life was a lesson in itself.  A lesson of humanity, helping others, and service to his country as well as his community.  He was living proof a man doesn't have to be wealthy to own his world.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his wife of 22 years that he loved so much, Glynda Dodson, his children, Bobby Ryan Dodson and Erica McKinney as well as Brandon Cox and Krista McGuire.  Also surviving are his sister, Debra Conti (John) of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Darla Dodson of Benton, KY, a grandson, Dominic Cross, brothers-in-law, Phillip English and Gary English, 3 great-grandchildren, Owen, Grayson, and Paisley, and several nieces and nephews. 

A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family.  

In lieu of flowers, it was Bobby's wish that donations be sent to Mercy Hospice so that he might continue his life's work of reaching out to those in need.
