Bro. John "Johnny" H. Hamlett

Bro. John "Johnny" H. Hamlett, 83 of Benton, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Baptist Health in Paducah, Kentucky.

Born Sunday, October 25, 1942 in Marshall County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Murphy Hamlett and the late Bessie Salyers Hamlett. He retired from Alcan Aluminum in Benton, KY after 43 years. Johnny became an ordained minister and started preaching the Gospel and was the Pastor at Pleasant Hope Baptist Church for five years.

Surviving are his son, Jerry Hamlett of Benton, KY and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Brenda York Hamlett; his son, Jeff Hamlett; sisters, Barbara West and Mary Prince, and brother,  Edward Hamlett.

A funeral service will be on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Collier Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jason Logsdon officiating.

Burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Benton, KY.
