Charles Glenn Fulks, 83, of Grand Rivers was joyfully welcomed into Heaven on the evening of Tuesday, August 18, 2026, while surrounded by his family on the grounds of his "Happy Place"- Maggie's Jungle Golf.
Charles was born Between the Rivers in Lyon County on March 2, 1943, to the late Finis Fulks and the late Elsie Orr Fulks. He was a proud Christian and member of Grand Rivers Baptist Church. Charles was saved in 2017 when his nephew, David Gentry, reached out, inquiring about his faith. The two men met at Maggie's Jungle Golf where Charles accepted God as his Lord and Savior. His family is at great peace knowing that his earthly body and mind have been fully restored and he is now in the presence of his God.
His family was what Charles' life revolved around. Nearly 65 years ago, Charles married the love of his life, Mary Gentry- who then blessed him with his son and the apple of his eye, Michael. Michael brought a joy to his life that Charles hadn't known was possible, until Michael brought home Jimila- and they then welcomed Charles's "Princess" Whitney. Charles's adoration for his Princess was only rivaled by her love for her Papaw. The two shared a special bond. When Whitney and her husband, Logan made the family complete with their two children, that special bond was then shared with Charles' best buddy, Rhett, and "Little Miss Roo."
Charles didn't understand the concept of rest; in his free time, he found more opportunities to work. He worked for 42 years at CC Metals and Alloys, he worked alongside his dear friend, Charlie Alexander; and was a lifelong commercial fisherman. For 27 years, his love of work and his passion for his family and animals collided as the co-owner of Maggie's Jungle Golf- running Maggie's Jungle Run.
In the rare moments when Charles would slow down and sit still, he enjoyed cheering on his two favorite sports teams- University of Kentucky basketball and the St. Louis Cardinals; and loving on his animals, especially his cats.
Those left to cherish Charles' memory include his beloved wife, Mary Gentry Fulks; son, Michael Fulks (Jimila) of Draffenville; one sister, Linda Fox (Rudy) of Grand Rivers; one granddaughter, Whitney Taylor (Logan); and two great grandchildren, Rhett and Ridley Taylor.
Charles was welcomed into heaven by his parents, Finish and Elsie Fulks; and two sisters, Rosie Blaine and Delores Ramey.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations made in memory of Charley Fulks to the Marshall County Humane Society; 6301 US-68 E Benton, KY 42025.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 21, 2026 at Dixon Cemetery with Bro. Mark Gill officiating.
There will not be a public visitation.
