Danny Allan Lovett, 82, passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord on May, 23, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, father-in-law, son, brother, and dear friend whose life was defined by faith, humility, hard work, and kindness. While his family was the center of his world, his greatest love was his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Danny retired after 42 years of dedicated service with BFGoodrich/Lubrizol. Beyond his career, he was widely respected for his remarkable talent as a mechanic and engine builder, sharing his knowledge and skill with countless people over the years. From streetcars to street rods, if something needed built or repaired, many trusted him to do it right.

Music was another of his God-given gifts. A wildly talented thumb-style guitar player, he spent many years playing with his band, The Sundowners, and contributing to gospel studio recordings. Whether on the stage, at home, or among friends, his music brought joy and awe to those around him.

A lifelong member of Olive Community Church, he faithfully served wherever there was a need. He believed in helping others quietly and wholeheartedly, never seeking recognition, only seeking to live out his faith through service and love.

More than anything, he will be remembered for the example he set — steady, dependable, generous, talented, faithful, and deeply loved by his family. His wisdom, humor, music, and gentle spirit will be missed beyond measure.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Judith (Rose) Lovett; daughters Ginger Cook and Danna Semenic (Michael John); son-in-law Jim Royster; grandchildren Megan Royster (Josh), Kelsi Lovett, James Royster (Brittany), and Kaitlin Cook; great-grandchildren Molly Royster, Jameson Royster, Dahlia Hinton, Scarlett Hinton, Oliver Hinton, Poppy Hinton, and Frankie Royster; and sister, Patricia Park (Gary).

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Julie Royster; grandson, Jacob Royster; his parents, D.A. and Aline Lovett; and his in-laws, William Franklin and Hazel Rose.

The family finds comfort in knowing that his faith became sight and that he is now whole, healed, and at peace in the presence of the Lord.
