Danny Wayne Newton

Danny Wayne Newton, 81 of Benton, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at his home.

Danny was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 14, 1944 to the late Delbert Newton and Lala Frizzell Newton.  He retired as a chemical operator from Air Products.  Danny was a board chairman of 109 Taxing District/Marshall County Refuse District.  He was a motorcycle enthusiast who enjoyed traveling and hunting.  Danny was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church.

He is survived by his cousins, Tammy Haley (James) and Rhonda Oldham; nephew, Dr. Larry Melton; step-daughter, Heidi Lewis (Ken); and step-brother, Jerome Allen.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Brown Newton; son, Jason Newton; brother, Millard Newton; and his parents.

A funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Collier Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Lawrence and Tim Chiles officiating. Interment will follow at Fairdealing Cemetery, Benton, KY.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, Kentucky.
