David E. Lawson

David E. Lawson, 85 of Gilbertsville, Kentucky, formerly of Lafayette, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Marshall Co. Hospital in Benton, Kentucky.

David was born in Reynolds, Indiana on November 25, 1940, he was the son of the late James E. Lawson and Margureite Mansfield Lawson.  Before retiring, he worked in maintenance for Frontier School Corporation.  David had a strong work ethic and would help anyone in need.  He enjoyed going coon hunting and country music.    

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Karon Locklar Lawson; three sons, D. Brian Lawson of Lafayette, IN, Tim Lawson (Tina Palmer) of Sun City, AZ and Rodney Lawson (Lynn) of Gilbertsville, KY; brother, Michael Lawson (Shirley) of Monticello, IN; ten grandchildren, Hannah, Jamison & Madison Lawson, Courtney Sparks (Josh), Ariel Lawson, Teasha Lawson (Aric Williams), Logan & Karissa, Kyle & Michael McKinley; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Wanda Hutsell (Homer); brother, Wilbur Lawson; and his parents.
