Donna Lee Hunter

Donna Lee Hunter, 83 of Benton, Kentucky passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025, at her home in Benton, Kentucky.

Born Saturday, November 15, 1941 in Sundance, Wyoming, she was the daughter of the late Ambrose McGannon and the late Ruth Hebbert  McGannon. She was a long time sales clerk at Wal-Mart in Benton.  She was an avid garner, seamstress, and lover of animals, especially her dogs and cats. Her love of animals and her independence came from being raised on a ranch growing up. Donna was a proud member of the local Homemakers Chapter and was a Kentucky Colonel.  She had a special talent to create things, anywhere from furniture to arts and crafts and would travel to festivals and shows to sell what she had created.

Surviving are sons, Tom Hunter of Benton, KY and Jimmy Hunter of Julesburg, CO, daughter, Elizabeth "Beth" Green (Randy) of Benton, KY, brother, George Pat McGannon of Sterling, CO, and sister, Joyce Bernard of Canon City, CO.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Gene McGannon.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Collier Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dale Taylor officiating.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Collier Funeral Home located at 211 West 5th Street Benton, KY 42025. 270-527-3141.
