Dorothy Darnell

Dorothy Darnell, 90 of Benton, Kentucky passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026, at her residence.

Born Wednesday, August 21, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Calhoun and the late Lillian (Allen) Calhoun. Dorothy was a homemaker who loved gardening, specifically flowers. Aside from gardening, she was a skilled seamstress. Dorothy was of the Baptist faith. 

She is survived by her son, Stanley Darnell (Mary Kay) of Benton, KY; brother, Fred Calhoun of Southern Illinois; grandchildren, Jesse Darnell (Amber) and Nicholas Darnell; and one great grandchild, Presley Darnell. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Melton "Red" Darnell.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 12, 2026 at Marshall County Memory Gardens located at Hwy U.S. 641 North, Benton, Kentucky 42025.
