Earl Louis Crippin, 69, of Calvert City, KY died suddenly on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at his residence.

Earl was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, he was the son of the late Richard Crippin and Shirley (Fooks) Crippin. Earl spent most of his childhood, teens, and some of his adulthood living in Dixboro, a small, picturesque village adjacent to Ann Arbor. A depiction of Earl’s life would be incomplete without the mention of this most beloved and coveted community, as it was truly the place and time he treasured most in his life. 

In his youth, Earl enjoyed playing hockey on the local pond with friends and was an avid participant in his local Boy Scout troop.  Earl was also well known as a talented fast-pitch softball pitcher in the Ann Arbor area during the 1970’s. 

Earl was a small business owner, owning and operating a professional landscaping firm in Michigan for over 25 years. In later years Earl became a heavy equipment operator for the International Union of Operating Engineers and was a proud member of Local #181 in Paducah, KY.  Earl was also a devoted member of the Mt. Moriah Primitive Baptist Church.

He is survived by his 3 daughters, Jennifer Crippin-House husband Charles of Dexter, MI, Juliet McNamara husband David of Ann Arbor, MI and August Crippin of Westland, MI; mother, Shirley (Fooks) Crippin of Benton, KY; sister, Karon Bernhard husband Larry of Dexter, MI; and his granddaughter, Elaina Fuller.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 21, 2022 in the Chapel of Collier Funeral Home, located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, KY 42025.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Collier Funeral Home.
