Edward William Knue

Edward Knue, 88, of Benton passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at his residence.

Edward was born on Wednesday, August 31, 1938, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Marie Pessler Knue and the late Harry Knue. Up until retirement, he worked as a backhoe operator at the City of Cincinnati Water Works. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Edward loved model trains, especially the American Flyer and all types of electric trains.

He is survived by his wife, Vickie Weitlauf Knue; one son, Edward Knue, Jr. of Key West, Florida; three daughters, Susan Gies (Mark) of Benton, Mary Ibold (Rick) of Gilbertsville, and Dori Schulz (Dutch) of Vevay, Indiana; one brother, Vince Knue of Cincinnati, OH; one sister, Mary Anne Spille of Cincinnati, OH; seven grandchildren, Edward "DJ" Ibold, Zachery Gies, Nicole Kobylack (Jim), Brandon Ibold, Eric Smith (Salina), Rachel Knue, and Sophia Knue; as well as four great grandchildren, Patrick and Conner Smith, and Alayah and Rycker Kobylack.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Michael Knue; five brothers, Raymond, Joseph, John, Donald, and Paul; as well as nine sisters, Mary Agnes, Monica Paff, Rita Knue, Ruth Shilling, Doris and Sylvia Maurer, Helen Gerier, Bobby Jo Skillbeck, and Martha Lauck.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
