Franklin "Lyndell" Gray

Mr. Franklin "Lyndell" Gray, age 85 of Benton, KY passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026, at Calvert City Convalescent Center in Calvert City, KY.  He was a retired tax accountant and enrolled agent to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service.  He was former administrator of Western KY Regional MLS, Inc. and a Hospital and Nursing Home Administrator in California.  He was also a Real Estate Broker and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. 

Mr. Gray attended Christian Fellowship Church and Abundant Life Worship Center.  He was on the World Missions and Evangelism Board of Directors, past president of the School of Ministry Alumni Association, KY Barkley Lakes Board of Realtors, where he was Realtor of the Year in 1984 and again in 1991.  He served on their Board of Directors for 14 years.  He was also a member of the National Association of Realtors, Kentucky Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Enrolled Agents.

Born Tuesday, March 18, 1941 in Lyon County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Robert Franklin Gray and the late Louise (Bridges) Gray. 

Surviving are brothers, Jerry Gray (Carolyn) of Benton, KY, Dwayne T. Gray of Boise, Idaho (Ofelia), sisters, Roselle C. McCoy of Benton, KY (Norval), Beverly E. Smith of Bethalto, IL (Eddie), Betty G. Hawkins of Wood River, IL (Kevin), many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand nephews.  He was also survived by 5 foster sons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Bobby L. Gray, and 1 foster son.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 17, 2026 at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, Kentucky 42025 with Rev. Lynn McWherter officiating.  Visitation will be held between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026 at Collier Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Christian Fellowship School School Scholarship Fund, 1343 US Hwy 68 E, Benton, KY 42025.
