Fred Ross, 82 of Calvert City, Kentucky passed away on Friday, September 18, 2026, at Baptist Health in Paducah, Kentucky.

Born Thursday, April 20, 1944 in Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Samuel Ross and the late Martha Jones Ross. 

Fred served Calvert City for over 50 years as a fire fighter and 25 of those years he served the citizens as the Fire Chief of Calvert City Fire Department. He also retired from Atochem as a heavy equipment operator. He was a long time member of Calvert City United Methodist Church. Fred was a Navy Veteran, a Navy SeaBee and proudly served our country in Vietnam and Desert Storm.

Surviving are sons; Justin Ross (Jennifer) of Calvert City, KY and Josh Ross (Paula) of Paducah, KY; sister, Carol Radeshak of Port Saint Lucie, FL; grandchildren, Brady Ross, Kierston Hayden and Tyler Ross; great granddaughter, Mallory Hayden; and bonus granddaughters, Addi Thompson and Avery Baker; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 45 years, Sherry Anne Rendleman Ross and brother, Samuel A. Ross, Jr..

Funeral Services will be Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Calvert City United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. John Purdue officiating.

Burial to follow at Calvert City Cemetery with Military Rites and Fire Firefighter Last Call.

Visitation will be Friday, September 25, 2026 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Calvert City United Methodist Church, located at 571 Oak Park Blvd, Calvert Coty, KY 42029.
