Jamie Lynn Conner, 47, of Benton, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family after a courageous battle with stage IV Metastatic Melanoma.
Born on January 4, 1979, in Murray, Kentucky, Jamie was the son of Larry and Martha Conner.
There are some people whose lives are measured in years, and then there are those whose lives are measured by the love they give, the lives they shape, and the legacy they leave behind. Jamie was one of those people.
To know Jamie was to know kindness. He was a great friend who loved attending live sporting events, concerts, and gathering with family and friends. He had a quiet strength, an infectious smile, and a servant’s heart that made everyone around him feel seen, welcomed, and valued. He was the kind of man who showed up without being asked, gave without expecting anything in return, and loved without conditions.
While cancer ultimately claimed his life, it never claimed his spirit. Jamie fought until his very last breath—not because he was afraid to die, but because he loved his family too much to stop fighting for one more day with them. Throughout surgeries, treatments, clinical trials, hospital stays, setbacks, and unimaginable challenges, he never lost hope. His courage, resilience, and unwavering determination inspired thousands who followed his journey and countless others who had the privilege of knowing him personally.
Jamie had a lifelong love for sports, especially St. Louis Cardinals baseball and UK Basketball, but baseball was where his heart truly lived. Whether he was coaching, umpiring, or simply spending countless hours at the ballfield with his son, Landon, there was nowhere he would rather be. He loved teaching the game, but even more than that, he loved teaching young people. Jamie believed in building confidence, encouraging perseverance, and helping every player discover their potential. He treated every child he coached as if they were his own, leaving an impact that extended far beyond the baseball diamond.
Of all the roles Jamie held throughout his life, none meant more to him than being a husband and father. His greatest joy was building a life with his wife, Dallas, and raising their son, Landon. Dallas loved Jamie fiercely and stood beside him through every high and every unimaginable low, never leaving his side throughout his cancer journey. Landon was Jamie’s greatest pride, his biggest joy, and the reason he fought so incredibly hard every single day. The love he had for his family defined his life and gave him strength until the very end.
Jamie also leaves behind his faithful dog, Knox, whose constant companionship brought comfort throughout every season of life.
The overwhelming outpouring of prayers, love, encouragement, and support shown to Jamie and his family throughout his journey is a testament to the impact he had on so many lives. His legacy will never be defined by cancer, but by the way he lived—with integrity, humility, compassion, unwavering faith, and a determination to fight until the finish.
Jamie is survived by his loving wife, Dallas Conner; his amazing son, Landon Conner; his beloved dog, Knox; his parents, Larry and Martha Conner; his brother & sister in law, Brian & Robin Conner; his nieces, Ayla and Charli Conner; his sister-in-law, Katie Dubs; his nephews, Carter and Tucker Dubs; his father- and mother-in-law, Joe and Sonja Young; and many cherished cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 8, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Collier Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m., with burial at Horn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Jamie Conner Fight to the Finish Scholarship Fund. Contributions may be mailed, c/o Brian Conner, to 636 Nelson Lane, Benton, KY 42025.
Though our hearts are broken, we rejoice knowing that Jamie’s race has been run, his suffering has ended, and he has heard the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” His fight is finished, but his legacy will continue to live on in every player he coached, every life he touched, and every person who chooses courage, kindness, and faith because they knew him.
