Jerry Dinning

Jerry Dinning, age 77, of Benton, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Mercy Health- Lourdes Hospital.

He was born in Braggadocio, MO on January 2, 1946 to the late Vernon Dinning and Evelyn Gordon Dinning Lowry. Jerry worked as a truck driver and drove for A.N. Webber Trucking. He was a member of Olive Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge #925. Jerry had many hobbies and kept himself busy by enjoying the outdoors while hunting, fishing, and arrowhead hunting. He loved history and had a passion for coin collecting and studying his family's ancestry. Jerry also played guitar and loved music. He was happiest when surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 58 years, Linda Kincade Dinning of Benton; one daughter, Melissa Niemann (Ted) of Red Bud, IL; two sons, Mike Dinning of Benton and Scott Dinning (Cheryl) of Red Bud, IL; three sisters, Wanda Gibbons, Sharon Cornish, and Janie Bruce all of Caruthersville, MO; one brother, Danny Dinning (Carolyn) of Benton; six grandchildren, Amanda Wetzler, Rebecca Dinning, Krystal Eschmann, Joe Dinning, Jeremy Dinning, and Tyler Magruder; eleven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother, Azlee Dinning; his step-father, William Lowry; one daughter, Paula Dinning; and one grandson, Jamie Padgett.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 20, 2023 at Collier Funeral Home of Benton.
Burial will follow at Barnett Cemetery

The visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at the funeral home. Masonic Rites will be held at 7:00 PM
