Jerry Wayne McFarland

Jerry Wayne McFarland, 77, of Benton, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at his home.

Jerry was born in Salyersville, Kentucky on February 24, 1949 to the late Raliegh McFarland and Ima Jean Combs McFarland. He worked as a butcher at the Smithland Packing House and Farmer's Market in Paducah. Jerry enjoyed being active outdoors; as a true outdoorsman he loved hunting and fishing. He loved all animals, but especially all his dogs.

Jerry is survived by two sons, Justin Wayne McFarland (Charity) of Marion, Kentucky and Scotty Allen Kirk (Christina) of Salem; three daughters, Janie "Sissy" McFarland (Rich Hendershot) of Benton, Misty Corley of Calvery City, and Michelle Nesbitt of Franklin, KY; two sisters, Naomi Johnson of Jackson, KY and Beverly Dukes of Smithland; 15 grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lori McFarland; two brothers, Jimmy McFarland and Raliegh "June Bug" McFarland; and one sister Janie Goff.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, June 28, 2026 at Collier Funeral Home, Inc. 211 West 5th St Benton, KY 42025 with burial to follow at Dixon Cemetery.

The visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Collier Funeral Home, Inc.
