Mrs. Lenora Joan (Powell) Jones, age  84 of Benton, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at her home in Benton.  She was a retired bus driver for the Marshall County School System, and was a member of Pleasant Hope Baptist Church.  She was a proud Christian that loved her church family and shared her faith by playing the piano. Joan cherished every moment she spent with her family, and always held close the memories of traveling with them across the United States.

Born Sunday, October 12, 1941 in Benton, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Quinten Powell and the late Charlotte (Miller) Powell.

Joan is survived by her son, William "Bill" Jones, Jr. (Kathy) of Benton; two daughters, Marcia Clark (Doug) of Benton and Donna Wyatt of Kaelakekua, Hawaii; one brother, Gerald Powell (Faye) of Benton; four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Lester Jones; and son-in-law, Tim Wyatt.

A Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, Kentucky 42025, with Bro. John Bedwell and Bro. Carl Butler officiating.

Interment will follow in the Fairdealing church of Christ Cemetery, Benton, Kentucky.

Visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 p.m .and 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 22, 2026 at Collier Funeral Home.
