Judy McLeod, 79, of Dexter, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at Murray-Calloway County Hospital surrounded by her family.

Judy was born on Monday, December 16, 1946 in Model, Tennessee to the late Willie Irene (Collins) Edwards and the late Homer Newton. She worked in sanitation at Kenlake Foods. Time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren was the highlight of her days. She taught them invaluable lessons such as the importance of eating dessert first and never leaving a free ink pen behind. In her free time, she kept busy by gardening, growing flowers, fishing, and pursuing garage and yard sales. She was faithful disciple of Jesus Christ and a loyal member of Purpose Church in Murray, KY.

She is survived by her four daughters, Mary Andrus (Shane) of Benton, Lena Archibald (Steve) of Dexter, Jimmye Johnson (Cory) of Hardin, and Stephanie Cowen (Peter) of Evergreen, Colorado; two brothers, Carl Newton and George Newton; two sisters, Margaret McLeod and Kathy King; nine grandchildren, Justin Bonnell, Bethanie Robbins, Paige Buck, Bryan Archibald, Blake McLeod, Bodie Cowen, Brock Bolte, Carson Cowen, and Charleston Cowen; six great-grandchildren, Jaxson Bonnell, Hadlee Dodd, Wesley Robbins, Reagan Robbins, Maisyn Buck, and Brees Butcher; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Judy was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Jimmy Ed McLeod, Sr.; one son, Jimmy Ed McLeod, Jr.; her parents; her step-father, Virgil Edwards; three brothers, Thomas Newton, Gerald Edwards, and Homer Newton; one sister, Irene Turner; two great-grandchildren, Opal Anne McLeod and Baby McLeod.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Thursday, April 9, 2026 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Collier Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at 12:00PM with Bro. Dustin McClain officiating. Burial will follow in Haymes Cemetery.
