Julia Lee Lane-Hiltz, born December 12, 1950, in Torrance, California, and a longtime resident of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on August 10, 2026, at the age of 75.

Julia was the cherished daughter of the late Bruce Lane and Sylvia Jane Lane. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her firstdaughter, Megan Makenzi Lane.

Julia leaves behind a loving family who will forever treasure her memory, including her husband, Richard Allen Hiltz; daughter, Molly Lane Poteet; stepdaughters, Stephanie Renerker, Rachella Hiltz, Sara Hiltz, and April Potter; stepson, Kevin Hiltz; grandchildren, Mason James Garvin, Addison Jane Garvin, and Natalie Mae Luther; as well as many additional grandchildren through her stepchildren. Ginny & Jim, Tim & Val, James; and many of her cousins.

Julia graduated from Murray State University in Kentucky. She had a passion for teaching and taught at Cookeville High School in Putnam County, Tennessee. She later continued her teaching career in Las Vegas and retired from the Clark County School District in 2017.

Julia touched the lives of countless people through her love, kindness, genuine compassion, and generosity toward others. She had one of the purest hearts and will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew her.

A graveside memorial service will be held on September 19, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Hematite Cemetery in Land Between the Lakes, Kentucky (Forest Service Road 136-A, Cadiz, KY).
