Keith Haire

Keith Haire, 67, of Benton, KY passed away from heart surgery-related complications on January 19th, 2022 at Vanderbilt University Hospital. He was born March 15th, 1954, in Owensboro, KY to Darrell Eugene Haire and Opal May Rogers Haire, who have preceded him in death.

Keith was a graduate of Daviess County High School class of 1972, and married his loving wife of 48 years, Brenda Lois Stallings Haire, in 1973. Keith and Brenda welcomed their first child Keith Wayne Haire II in 1974, and their second child, Katrina Elizabeth Haire Gamble in 1984. In 1980 he graduated from the police academy where he served as an officer for over ten years. In 1992 Keith started his career with the Western Kentucky’s Public Defenders office where he retired as an Investigator. 

Keith was a member of Zions Cause Baptist Church, and loved to worship the Lord with his family. In his spare time, he enjoyed shooting, family vacations, outdoors and all things Irish. However, his most favorite pastime were trips to The Great Smoky Mountains with his family, although they all knew it was really his grandson, Ethan Thomas Gamble that he wanted to spend his time with. Keith was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Brenda, children Keith, Katrina (Tommy), grandson Ethan, brothers Darrell, Steven, Michael, and Brent, nieces and nephews.  

Visitation will be held at Collier Funeral Home in Benton, KY on Saturday, January 22nd, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and services will be Sunday, January 23rd, 2022 beginning at 12:30 pm. A graveside memorial is planned for 4:00 pm on Sunday at the Karns Grove Baptist Church, (Philpot, KY) cemetery.
