Larry Coursey

Larry Charles Coursey, 74, of Benton, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Lake Way Nursing & Rehabilitation in Benton, Kentucky.

Larry was born in McCracken County, Kentucky on March 20, 1949 to the late Duard Coursey and Claudine Littlejohn Coursey. He graduated from North Marshall High School in 1967 and worked as a welder.  Larry enjoyed spending time with his family and quail hunting. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Calvert City.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Doris DeWeese Coursey; son, David Stephens (Shannon Sheree) of Nashville, TN; daughter, Laura Riley (Jimmy) of Marion, KY; son-in-law, Warren Glettner of Piedmont, CA; one brother, Tommy Coursey (Carolyn) of Benton; brother-in-law, Wayne Maddox of Benton; one niece, Sherry Downey (John) of Benton; two nephews, Mike Coursey (Rhonda) of Calvert City and Mitch Coursey (Kelly) of Lutz, FL; two grandchildren, Garrett Stephens and Caleb Riley.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Alison Stephens Glettner; one sister, Glenda Maddox; his grandparents, Raymond and Alice Stom Coursey, Charles and Ila Chumbler Littlejohn; and his parents.

A funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Collier Funeral Home with Dr. Jim Ewing officiating. Interment will follow at Wilson Cemetery in Benton, KY.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Collier Funeral Home.
