Malcolm Lynn Lane

Malcolm Lynn Lane, 57 of Benton, Kentucky passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family.

Born Sunday, June 2, 1968 in Murray, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Malcolm Lane and Janice Miller. He was retired from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, assigned to Marshall County and was the Foreman for several years. Lynn was an avid outdoorsman, gardening, hunting, fishing, and was the owner and operator of Hook, Line and Sinker Guide Service. Lynn was also a 15 year member of the Briensburg-TL Jefferson #401 F. & A. M. Lodge where he was elected as Master in 2016, 2018, and 2022 as well as several other positions in the lodge over the years. 

Surviving are his wife of 12 years, Misty Hopwood Lane; his mother, Jance Miller of Benton, KY; sisters, Julie Todd (Andy) of Calvert City, KY, Jacqueline Lewis (Drew) of Clarksville, TN, Ashley Henley (Sean) of Paducah, KY and Kirby Cornwell of Murray, KY; sons, Heath Lane (Jenna) of Benton, KY, Tevin Gregory (Haley) of Benton, KY, Tanner Gregory (Casey Gordon) of Benton, KY; daughter, Laken Womble (Jacob) of Paducah, KY; grandchildren, Eris, Maggie, Sutton and Ledger.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at 5 PM at Collier Funeral Hime Chapel with Rev. Tom Hiter officiating. Masonic Rites will be held at 5 PM prior to the funeral service.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 from 2 PM until 5 PM at Collier Funeral Home located at 211 West 5th Street Benton, KY 42025. 270-527-3141.
