Mary Helen Newcomb-Linn, age 79, of Clarksville, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Murray-Calloway County Hospital.

Mary was born in Todd County, Kentucky on December 30, 1946, to the late Bob Riley Newcomb and the late Sarah Louise Haley Newcomb. She worked as a merchandising manager in the gourmet food industry and attended Pleasant Hope Baptist Church. Mary loved reading and could often be found with her nose in a good book. She would look forward to the days she got to spend shopping and going out with all of her cousins from Clarksville. Mary's grandbabies and great grandbabies were the light of her life. She cherished every moment she was able to spend surrounded by their laughter and love.

Mary is survived by one son, Christopher Maness (Gina) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; one daughter, Tammy Coddington (George) of Murray; one brother, Monty Newcomb of Benton; one sister, Marlene Whitley of Benton; five grandchildren, Samantha Shannon (Anthony), Harlee Maness (Taylor), Jamie Huckleberry (Michelle), Andrew Coddington (Ashley), and Mary Hendley (Cliff); nine great grandchildren, Clark, Kylie, Zayden, Victor, Bennett, Ricky, Luke, Aniston, and Alex; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Nolan Linn; five brothers, Bobby, Michael, David, Donnie, and Danny; and three sisters, Patricia, Bonnie, and Brenda; and one brother-in-law, Michael Whitley.

Mary would have turned 80 years old this December; she had expressed to her family that instead of gifts, she wished only to receive birthday cards. In honor of her wishes, the family of Mary Newcomb-Linn kindly request birthday cards be delivered to Collier Funeral Home- P.O. Box 492 Benton, KY 42025- before noon on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.
