Matthew "Tyler" Young

Matthew "Tyler" Young, 34 of Grand Rivers, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Mercy Health-Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky.


Tyler was born in Paducah, Kentucky on February 11, 1991.  He worked as a chemical operator at Sekisui in Calvert City.  Tyler enjoyed the outdoors whether it was hunting, fishing, kayaking or camping with his friends.  He loved taking the doors off his Jeep and driving down dirt roads through LBL.  Tyler played guitar and was a jokester, always making those around him smile and laugh.  Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, son and brother with unwavering love for his family.  Tyler was a member of Grand Rivers Pisgah Global Methodist Church. 

He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Chelsie Holcomb Young; daughter, Nora Young; his parents, Jeff Young and Lisa Heath Young of Benton, KY; sister, Katheryn Keith and husband, Johnny of Park City, KY; nephew, Henry Keith; niece, Hannah Keith; and his grandmother, Janet Heath of Sharpe, KY.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, George Heath, Jr.; and paternal grandparents, Ralph and Maggie Young. 

A funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 20, 2025 at Collier Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Small officiating.  Interment will follow in McNatt Cemetery, Benton, KY.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 20, 2025 at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, Kentucky.
