Nancy York

Nancy York, 87 of Benton, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at The Stilley House in Benton, Kentucky.

Nancy was born in Benton, Kentucky on May 12, 1937 to the late Claude Waid and Sue Thompson Waid. She worked as a mail carrier for over 33 years. Nancy enjoyed going to yard sales, collecting Indian artifacts and traveling with her family.

She is survived by her son, Denny York, wife, Lisa; two daughters, Donna Angle and Susie Groves, husband, Lyndall; daughter-in-law, Kathy York; special children, Ricky and Linda Clark, all of Benton, KY; seven grandchildren, Dustin Groves (Shelly), Calli Sue Spencer (Paul), Danielle Bailey (Jeffery), Cody Angle, Stephanie Butler (Cory), Chaney Gremore (Anthony), Bradley York (Heather); eight great-grandchildren, Easton & Talon Groves, Ellie Sue & Lydia Spencer, Warren Allen Bailey, Lincoln & London York and Madison Butler.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Donald "Don" York; son, Terry York; son-in-law, Nelvin Angle; brother, Joe Taylor Waid; sister, Maryann Wommack; her parents; and grandson, Kipton Keith Groves.

A funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Collier Funeral Home with David Myers officiating. Interment will follow at New Harmony Cemetery, Benton, KY.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, Kentucky.
