Rhonda Powell

Rhonda Gale Thompson Powell, 72, of Benton, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, September 26th, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at her residence.

Rhonda was born December 26, 1953, in Benton, Kentucky to Landron Dale L.D. “Jack” Thompson and Jean Rose Thompson.

Rhonda is survived by her sons Trent and Kurt Powell (Allie), grandchildren, Brayden, Braxton (Kaylie Clark), Kruz, Brindley & Kane Powell, Anyston Lilly and bonus son Bryce Powell (Laney) and bonus daughter Jess Martin (Blake) and niece Angi O’Daniel King (Tracy) and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

Rhonda is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents John and Lola Lents, Tom Rose, & Luther and Zera Thompson, brother Jerry Lents and sister JoAnn Evans, sister Landa Daniels, brothers Darrell and Alan Thompson and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Rhonda spent her life cultivating a home filled with unconditional love, warmth, and grace. She dedicated her entire life to being the anchor of her family, finding her greatest joy and life’s purpose in nurturing her children and doting on her grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday, September 29, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 PM Tuesday, September 29, 2026 in the chapel of Collier Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Miller officiating.
