Rick Napper

Rick Napper, 70 of Benton, Kentucky passed away on Monday, August 31, 2026 at Mercy Health - Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky.

Rick was born in Hamden, Ohio on December 13, 1955, he was the son of the late Okey Napper and Margaret Quillen Napper. Rick retired from the United States Army after proudly serving our country for 20 years. He worked as a hospital administrator for 25 years at various hospitals across the states. Rick “Papa” enjoyed golfing, UK basketball, cheering on his grandkids in their various activities, and cooking his famous holiday egg nog French toast. Rick loved the Lord with all his heart and was a proud member of Benton Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joyce Plummer Napper; two daughters, Christina Brown (Scott) of Benton, KY and Tanya Adams (Zach) of Batesville, IN; brother, Tommy Napper (Vicki) of Pylesville, MD; six grandchildren, Ally Brown, John Ben Brown, Audrey Grace Brown, Connor Brown, Lilliana Adams and Bailee Adams; sister-in-laws Joan Hoeck and Judy Defonzo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved second parents, his in-laws, Gary & Marilyn Plummer, two brothers, Ronnie Napper and Roger Napper, and brother-in-law Steve Plummer.


A Celebration of Life will be at 3:00 PM on Sunday, September 6, 2026 at Benton Church of Christ with Jeff Jones and Mark Ray officiating.


Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Sunday, September 6, 2026 at Benton Church of Christ located at 3091 Main St, Benton, KY 42025.
