Robert Grant Black, 67, of Hardin, KY passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025 peacefully surrounded by his family.
Grant was born on March 8, 1958 to the late Dan and Linda (Burkeen) Black. He was a life-long resident of Hardin, where his family owned Black's Grocery for many years. He was a 1976 graduate of Marshall County High School.
He married his love Patsy (Burkeen) Black in October of 1976. He was a skilled a brick mason and after getting his start with Bolen's Masonry, he began his own business, Black's Masonry, which he ran until his semi-retirement in 2006.
He was an avid hunter and life-long member of the Twin Lakes Coon Club. He was inducted into the Professional Kennel Club's Hall of Fame in 2019. Through his love of hunting, he made friends with many coon hunters and squirrel hunters around the country. He was a member of the Hardin Church of Christ. He was a member of the Alford-Hardin Masonic Lodge #925 in Aurora.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patsy Black; daughter, Emily (Justin) McGill; grandson, Brody McGill; sister, Dana Black, all of Hardin; brother-in-law Dennis (Rhonda) Burkeen of Aurora; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Collier Funeral Home Chapel with Masonic Rites at 2:00 PM.
Burial will follow at Wadesboro Cemetery, where Grant was also a caretaker.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 14, 2025 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Collier Funeral Home located at 211 West 5th Street Benton, KY 42025. 270-527-3141.
