Roger L. Oliver, age 74, of Medina, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026, at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. He was born on August 8, 1951, in Kuttawa, Kentucky, to the late William L. Oliver and Marvina Armstrong Oliver.
Roger lived a life defined by love for his family, a strong work ethic, and an appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. He was a devoted husband to Patsy Oliver for 54 years, and together they built a lifetime of cherished memories, unwavering love, and enduring commitment. Their marriage stood as a beautiful example of partnership and devotion.
He was a proud and loving father to his daughters, Rogina Stevens and Angie Bradley (Phil), and he found great joy in being an active part of their lives. Nothing meant more to Roger than his family. He especially treasured his role as a grandfather to Marley, Abby, and Beckett Stevens, and Josey and Myles Bradley, who brought immense happiness and light into his life.
Roger was also a devoted brother to Rodnie Oliver (Tena), Mike Oliver (Carolyn), Sandra Siegler (Jerry), Bessie Hardie (Mike), and was preceded in death by his sister, Wilma Collins. He also had the great joy of being an uncle to his cherished nieces and nephews. The close bonds he shared with his siblings remained an important and lasting part of his life.
Born and raised in Kuttawa, Kentucky, Roger graduated from South Marshall High School, where he enjoyed playing basketball and baseball. These early experiences helped shape the hardworking, team-oriented man he became. He later attended Murray State University, furthering his education and life experiences. His education was put on hold due to being drafted into a two year service with the army.
Roger dedicated many years of service to General Tire in Mayfield, Kentucky, where he was known for his reliability, dedication, and strong work ethic. He took great pride in his work and in providing for his family.
In his free time, Roger enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, often taking trips with Patsy that brought him a sense of freedom and joy. He was a passionate fan of Kentucky Wildcats basketball and spent many evenings cheering them on. Roger was also a devoted Christian member at North Jackson Church of Christ. Above all, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured for generations.
Roger will be remembered for his kind heart, steady presence, and the deep love he had for his family. His legacy lives on in all who knew and loved him.
SERVICES: A time for family and friends will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at North Jackson Church of Christ, 2780 Highway 45 Bypass, Jackson, TN 38305, with a funeral service to follow at 5:00 p.m. with Caleb Colley, minister officiating.
Mr. Oliver will be transported to Collier Funeral Home in Benton, KY where a visitation will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026 beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continuing until 12:00 p.m. with a service to follow at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Benton Church of Christ Cemetery.

Roger will be remembered for the love he gave so freely, the example he set through his life, and the many ways he touched the hearts of his family and friends. His memory will live on in the lives of those who knew and loved him, and he will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to share in his journey.
