Wheeler Stanley Blythe, 82, was born December 23, 1943 to Wade and Ollie Blythe in Monroe County, Kentucky. He passed away at his home in the Aurora area, June 24, 2026 with his family beside him.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Brenda Martin Blythe; two sons, Terry Blythe of Woodland Hills, CA and Tim Blythe (Melanie) of Louisville, KY; one daughter, Kim Lauyans of Benton, KY; six grandchildren, Kristie Hofelich-Ennis (Adam) of Clarksville, IN, Hunter Blythe of Woodland Hills, CA, Adam Blythe of Woodland Hills, CA, Alex Lauyans (Tiffany) of Sellarsburg, IN, Bradley Lauyans (Haley) of Coxs Creek, KY, Dallas Harbin (Kailey) of Vine Grove, KY; six great-grandchildren, Elijah Ennis, Xander Lauyans, Grey Lauyans, Beckam Lauyans, Kase Lauyans, Ella Harbin; seven granddogs, Bo, Gizmo, Rocky, Willow, Moose, Duke and Griffey. Wheeler is also survived by two sisters, Pearl Foster of Bowling Green, KY and Betty Decker of Overland Park, KS and several nieces & nephews.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Bill Blythe of Monrovia, IN; sister, Norma Stump of Bowling Green, KY; and his parents.
Wheeler was owner of River City Body Shop in Louisville, Kentucky for 32 years. He was an avid fisherman and when he retired, became a fishing guide, Cap'n Bly's Guide Service at Kentucky Lake, helping many people to learn the sport of fishing and come to love it as much as he did. He was a devoted husband and father and loved his family above all else. He had many friends who have become part of his family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at his home. Friends and family are welcome to visit from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Saturday, July 11, 2026 to share stories and fellowship.
