William Milton Martin (Bill), age 73 of Benton, KY passed away on June 29, 2026. Bill was born on November 17, 1952 in Washington, Missouri. Bill lived the majority of life in central Missouri moving to Kentucky in 2023.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents: William John Martin and Shirley Mae Martin. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Lynn Martin, daughters Nicole Rieland and Kayla Martin and their spouses (Jeff Rieland and Chris Miller) and grandchildren (Emma and Ethan Rieland) and his cousin, Scott Dwyer. Bill was a dedicated family man who welcomed Jayne and Paul Kendle (in-laws) and their children: Lindsey (spouse Cole Gruber), Justin (spouse Kara Kendle) and Wesley Kendle (spouse Josh Dalton) and grandchildren (Teddy, Oliver Paul, and Charlie Gruber; Aidan, Alec and Ian Kendle) into his family circle.

Bill was a veteran of the United States Navy (active duty 1971 – 1977; Navy Reserves 1982-2002). He was proud of his military service and lived his life with the values instilled through military service.

Bill was a lifelong scholar with a brilliant mind. He had an exceptional way of seeing the world. Bill graduated from the University of Missouri – Columbia with a Bachelors in Nuclear Medicine, a master’s in Animal Science and a PhD in Nutrition. He was employed at the University of Missouri Healthcare for over 30 years with his most recent position as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. He was meticulous with his work and worked as a member of a tight knit team.

Bill was an avid sports fan who loved the Saint Louis Cardinals and the Mizzou Tigers. He followed all college sports. Additionally, Bill was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was an active volunteer with the Bianchi Cup for over 30 years.

Bill was an honorable man with deep passions. He loved his family unconditionally including his beloved dogs, Bella and Baily. He was a patriot who was proud of his country and his service. He had a pervasive sense of humor that frequently surprised his family, friends and even physicians. He will be remembered with smiles and tears.
