Bettie Sue Barrett, 87, of Calvert City, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2026.

Bettie was born on December 22, 1938, in Trigg County, Kentucky, to the late David and Myra Mitchell Ross. In her early years, Bettie enjoyed going to yard sales and flea markets, collecting anything and everything. She also enjoyed bowling in a league. She retired from J.C. Penney after 25 years of service. More recently, she spent time relaxing while watching UK games and St. Louis Cardinals games. Bettie enjoyed spending time on the lake boating and camping every year with family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling to the Florida beaches and taking cruises with her husband and family. More than anything else, Bettie loved the Lord and her family. She was a member of Little Cypress Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, Chris Barrett and his wife Hieke of Smyrna, TN; one sister, Jareta Sturgell of Mount Carmel, TN; Four grandchildren, Kevin Barrett, Melissa Barrett, Marie Dominguez, and Sue Dominguez; eight great-grandchildren, Isabel Dominguez, Kevin Dominguez, Jose Dominguez, David Dominguez, Alejandro Dominguez, Armando Dominguez, Santos Dominguez, and Anthony Dominguez; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Roy Barrett; one son, David Dunn; three sisters, Mary Lou Nelson, Linda Allmon, and Denise Pace; and her parents, David and Myra Mitchell Ross.

Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann, 1003 Poplar Street, Benton, KY 42025.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann with Bro. Adam Webb and Bro. Charles Sturgell officiating. Burial will follow at Fooks Cemetery.
