Beverly Bolen, 82, of Benton, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Lake Way Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

Beverly was born on September 17, 1943, in Benton, Kentucky, to the late James Thomas Myers and Juanita Starks Myers. Beverly’s life was a true testament to her humble beginnings, the importance of hard work, her love for her family, and her faith.

Beverly began her education at Church Grove School, which was a one-room schoolhouse in Benton. During her early years, like many families in the area, Beverly's family relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio, in search of better job opportunities. As a young teenager, she discovered her talent as a skilled seamstress, earning 14 cents per customer as an alteration seamstress. After several years working in Ohio, her family eventually had saved enough money to move back to Marshall County and purchase the family farm. Beverly eventually met the love of her life, William Joseph Bolen, and the couple married in 1956. Beverly and her husband would follow a familiar path, traveling back and forth to Cincinnati for work for months at a time.

Beverly was no stranger to hard work. After settling back in Marshall County, she and her husband established a bricklaying business called Bolen Masonry Inc. Together, they expanded the business to include pallet manufacturing, which she spent many years taking an active role in the manufacturing process. After welcoming two children, Beverly shifted her focus entirely to raising her kids and managing the family farm. She tended to the cattle and chickens, planted and nurtured vegetables, and meticulously canned their harvest. Though rarely alone, she ensured her children understood the significance of hard work, often involving them in farm chores before and after dinner. Above all, Beverly was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her entire family deeply and leaves behind many fond memories to be cherished by all who knew her.

Beverly is survived by her daughter, Amber Bolen (Kevin Reed) of Benton; her son, Kevin Bolen (Michelle) of Benton; three grandchildren, Brandi Lee Ann Holt (Kable), Marshall Grammer (Carlye), and Madison Overby (Bradford); and one nephew, Tim Smith.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Emma Elaine Smith; one infant brother, Anthony Myers; and her parents, James Thomas Myers and Juanita Starks Myers.
