Brenda “Granny” Filbeck, 79, of Benton, Kentucky passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023 at her home.
Brenda was born on May 9, 1944 in Paducah, Kentucky to the late L.A. McGregor and Rebecca Howard McGregor. When Brenda was an infant, her Mother Rebecca passed of illness. Later, her father married Georgia McGregor whom Brenda considered as her mother. Brenda married the love of her life, Roy Lee Filbeck on September 2, 1961 and the two of them started their family. She stayed home to raise their two daughters while Roy Lee worked on their family farm. Brenda liked to keep herself busy by tending to her flower beds, picking up sticks in the yard, or jumping on a tractor to help Roy Lee on the farm. She also loved cooking for her family and friends, watching Nascar and UK Basketball, and caring for her beloved cats and various other critters that would show up at her house. Every Friday, Brenda enjoyed taking time for herself and getting her hair done.
Brenda was a very active member at Vanzora Baptist Church and spent many years working in the nursery. She was also a member of the Vanzora Homemakers Association. More than anything, Brenda loved her family very deeply and enjoyed spending time with them any chance she could.
She is survived by her two daughters, LeeAnn Adams (Mitch) and Sandy Filbeck-Haddix (Jeff) both of Benton; four grandchildren, Kailen Adams Hartsfield (Jody), Kinlee Adams, Brandon Mohler (Amie Beth), and Tori Morgan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Filbeck; and her parents.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann, 1003 Poplar Street, Benton, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann with Bro. Max Anderson and Bro. Mike Farmer officiating. Burial will follow at Vanzora Cemetery.
