Capt. Stevie Allen Jones

Capt. Stevie Allen Joyce, 63, of Benton, passed away on September 15, 2026, at his home.

He was born on February 18, 1963, in Benton, Kentucky, to his late parents, Archie and Lubie Nell Joyce. Stevie was a member of the Eagles Club and a man who found great enjoyment in hunting and fishing. He spent his entire career working on the western rivers, beginning as a deckhand and working his way up to become a Captain for Wepfer Marine. A hard worker by nature, Stevie was rarely without a project when he was home, always finding something to work on and keep him busy.

More than anything, Stevie will be remembered for the way he cared for people. He had a generous heart and a quiet way of helping others, often giving of himself without seeking recognition. He did so much for so many, including saving the lives of others. Stevie was a humble, everyday hero whose generosity and willingness to help made a lasting difference in the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. 

Stevie is survived by his wife of 27 years, Rose Elaine Hollowell Joyce; two daughters, Melanie Reason of Louisville, Chassie (Tony) Simons of Benton; one son, David (Lauren Mindos) Reason of Benton; two grandchildren, Jocelyn Willow Mardis, Talia Wren Reason; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three sisters, Doris Jean Joyce, Della Ray Joyce, Anita Kay Joyce; and two brothers, Jack Wayne Joyce, Joe Lee Joyce.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 2026, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann, 1003 Poplar Street, Benton, Kentucky 42025. Burial will follow in Calvert City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Friday, September 18, 2026, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann.
