Clara Anne Creason, 83, of Benton, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026.
Clara was a dedicated homemaker. She raised her children and relished the chance to do it all again by babysitting her grandchildren through the week as they were growing up. She was a kind soul and extended her grace and kindness to everyone, even on her bad days. She loved the thrill of a deal at an auction. She enjoyed spending a lot of her Saturdays with her daughters bidding on various items and collecting Depression Glass.
Clara had a passion for family history and the exploration of lineage. She was a member of the Marshall County Genealogical and Historical Society. Her children recall numerous evenings and weekends spent wandering through cemeteries as Clara gathered historical information. Clara was a woman of faith and attended New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. The life she lived was one steadfast in her Christian values and integrity.
She is survived by two daughters, Harla McClure (Shawn) of Murray, Kentucky and Mahotah Bailey, also of Murray; one son, Kerry Creason (Cherish) of Tennessee; one brother, Ernest Smith; three grandchildren, Caitland Barnum (Jeremy), Madison Stephens (Coy), and Sam McClure; and one great grandson, A.J. Barnum.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Wayne Creason; and her parents, Ernest Smith and Ida Floyd Finney Smith.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home of Milner & Orr, 1117 Poplar Street, Benton, KY 42025.
