Constance Lee Downing

Constance Downing, 67, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at her place of residence.

Constance was born in Detroit, Michigan, on December 10, 1957, to the late Edward Lawrence and Lettie Feagan Butler. She was a graduate of North Marshall High School and was proud that she had maintained friendships with her classmates through the years. Constance was known for her independent nature. She didn’t ask for help, but she was selfless in giving and helping others. She loved her job as a butcher and worked with Kings Brothers Grocery for over 20 years. When she wasn’t at work, some of her favorite things to do were mowing the lawn and bird watching.

Constance is survived by two daughters, Michelle Downing (John) of Calvert City and Katherine Downing (Nikki Vincent) of Benton; one son, Jason Paul Downing of California; three brothers, Larry Lawrence of Florida, Reggie Butler of California, and Byron Butler of Paducah, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Larry Ethan Downing, Lasher Paul Cedar, Rebecca L. Williams, and Angel G. Williams; and one great grandchild, Allison Mullany.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Michael Downing; and her parents, Edward Lawrence and Lettie Feagan Butler.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday, December 29, 2025, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann, 1003 Poplar Street, Benton, KY 42025.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 29, 2025, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann with Bro. Gary Knuckles officiating.
