Doris Jean Lane, 91, of Paducah, Kentucky, and formerly of Brewers, passed away at her home on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.
Doris was born in Calloway County, Kentucky, on April 20, 1935, to the late Collie Hubbs and Lorene Groves Harper. Even from a young age, Doris understood the importance of hard work. She lived a life dedicated to her job, her faith, and deep love for her family.
After graduating high school, she worked various jobs before starting her long career as a teller for Paducah Bank for 30 years, until she retired. After retiring from the bank, she dedicated herself to working alongside her husband, helping him manage the Paducah Auto Salvage business that they owned for many years. Away from work, Doris enjoyed filling her time with some of her favorite hobbies. Whether she was traveling with her husband to go camping and horseback riding, gathering with her friends at the Vanzora Homemakers Association, or trying to find her next treasure at the yard sales, she always enjoyed spending time with others. When she finally sat down to relax, she loved watching sports, especially UK Basketball, the Indiana Fever, or the Kansas City Chiefs.
As a member of Oak Level Methodist Church, her faith played an important role throughout her life. More than anything else, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be missed greatly by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her two sons, Rodney Lane (Kathy) of Benton and Marty Lane (Pam) of Benton; her sister, Marlene Stone (Glen) of Benton; her brother, Curtis Harper (Nancy) of Benton; two grandchildren, Dustin Lane (Kelly) and Tanya Lane Walter; four great-grandchildren, Taygan Lane, Adison Walters, Tresdon Lane, and Austin Walters; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Neil Lane; one brother, Jim Harper; and her parents, Collie Hubbs and Lorene Groves Harper.
