Eleanor “Ellie” Mainstruck, 83, of Benton, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky.
Ellie was born on April 30, 1943, in Waterbury, Connecticut, to the late Albert Mosevege and Eleanor Pope Mosevege. She was a hardworking woman with an artistic spirit, a love for animals, and, above all, a deep love for her family.
After graduating from high school, Ellie took real estate classes before marrying and starting her family. Throughout the years, she held a variety of jobs, including working at Cracker Barrel in Calvert City and operating sample carts at Walmart and Sam’s Club. Eventually, Ellie turned her artistic talents and passion for ceramics into a career by opening her own ceramics shop. There, she created and poured her own ceramics, painted each piece, and shared her knowledge by teaching others how to make and paint ceramics.
At home, Ellie found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved tending to her vegetable garden and the flowers around her home. She also enjoyed cooking for friends and family, passing along her love of cooking to some of her grandchildren. Above all, Ellie cherished her family and treasured every opportunity to spend time with those she loved.
She is survived by her two daughters, Rachel Morgan of Mayfield and Shari Bolte (Brad) of Benton; two sons, Chris John Mainstruck (Margaret) of Benton and Michael Mainstruck, Jr. of Paris, Tennessee; her eight grandchildren, Brittany Smith (Kyle), Kristen Burns (Courtney), Courtney Howard, Hayden Howard, Megan Mainstruck, Ethan Mainstruck, Holly Mainstruck, and Kayla Catron (Michael); and twelve great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Mainstruck, Sr.; and her parents, Albert Mosevege and Eleanor Pope Mosevege.
