Janette York Garland, 68, of Dexter, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at the Anna Mae Owen Hospice House.
Janette was born to the late Reese “Mutt” York and Annetta Gene York on February 19, 1954 in Benton, Kentucky. She worked for over 30 years as a cook for the Calloway County School Systems at East Elementary School. Janette enjoyed going to auctions and spending time working in her flower garden. More than anything else she loved being a grandma and watching her two granddaughters play softball and spoiling them any chance she could get.
She leaves behind her husband of 48 years, Gary Garland; her son Chad Garland (Christy) of Dexter; her brother David York (Vickie) of Benton; and two granddaughters, Philicady and Emily Garland.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Carolyn Cope and Clara O’Brien; one brother, Jerry York; and her parents.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, August 21, 2022 at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home of Milner & Orr.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 22, 2022 at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home with Bro. John Sales officiating. Burial will follow at Pace Cemetery.
