Jeff Story, 67, of Benton, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025.
Jeff was born in Benton, Kentucky, on May 7, 1958, to the late Henry Lee Story and Bernice “Jeanie” Story. After graduating from Marshall County High School in 1976, Jeff attended college for a brief period before starting his career in the construction industry. He was a hard-working man and spent many years as a member of the Ironworkers Local 782. As an owner of CESA Contractors in Calvert City, Jeff took great pride and dedicated himself to consistently providing a high level of safety, quality service, and craftsmanship. During his career, he also spent 24 years serving as a Trustee for the Kentucky Laborers Health and Welfare Fund and was awarded the prestigious title of a Kentucky Colonel.
Jeff always found the importance of finding ways to give back to the community and to help others in need. He, alongside others, created the Friends’ N Kin Charity Barbeque Team. Throughout the years, they raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to donate to Relay For Life and various other charitable organizations, positively impacting the lives of countless individuals. Jeff loved to travel with his wife, Denise, and especially loved taking trips by train to different destinations. He loved his family deeply, and enjoyed spending time tending to his cattle farm or relaxing while playing golf with close friends. Jeff will always be remembered for his generous spirit, larger-than-life personality, and a heart made of gold.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Denise Story; one daughter, Erin Lynne Story (Scott Plumley) of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida; one son Adam Lee Story (Meredith) of Possum Trot, Kentucky; two sisters in-law, Susie Story of Benton, Kentucky and Dana Dowdy of Paducah, Kentucky; five nieces and nephews, Tamela Haley (James) of Possum Trot, Kentucky, Rhonda Oldham (Roger) of Princeton, Kentucky, Clay Story of Benton, Kentucky, Mathew Dowdy and Marshall Dowdy; and two great-nieces and nephews, Kaylin Oldham and Nick Oldham.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Joyce “Kay” Frizzell; one brother, Joe Edd Story; and his parents.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann, 1003 Poplar Street, Benton, KY 42025.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann. Bro. Joel Frizzell will officiate, and burial will follow at Fooks Cemetery.
