Kal “Rickie” Castleberry, 65, of Benton, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.

Rickie was born on April 10, 1960, in Paducah, Kentucky, to William “Bill” Castleberry and Shirley May Green Castleberry. After graduating from Reidland High School in 1978, he attended Paducah Community College and later began working as a cabinetmaker, which fueled his passion for woodworking. Soon after, he took on the role of Electrical Design Technician at Marcum Engineering and Consulting, where he dedicated nearly 20 years of his professional life. In his later years, Rickie transitioned to HVAC Sales at Ingram’s Water and Air before retiring.

A man of diverse interests, Rickie loved staying active and enjoyed tinkering with various projects. Known as a “Jack of all trades,” he was a talented craftsman who not only enjoyed fixing items but also sought to recreate and enhance things he had seen. He spent many hours working in the garage, tinkering with a variety of projects, most recently creating rings made from quarters and also paracord bracelets. If he wasn’t working in the garage, he enjoyed going fishing, attending car shows, or going to the drag races. Having never met a stranger, Rickie enjoyed being around others and meeting new people. Often, his big heart would lead him to find ways to be generous and help others. More than anything else, Rickie loved his family. He loved spending time with his wife and two sons, especially his two granddaughters, who would light up whenever they saw him.

Rickie is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ginger Lynne Castleberry; his two sons, Josh Castleberry (Carrie) of Benton and Adam Castleberry of Paduchah; his two granddaughters, Cora Castleberry and Cali Castleberry; his parents, Bill Castleberry and Shirley May Castleberry; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Jeffrey Castleberry, Mike Castleberry, and Todd Castleberry.
