Mary Boren,92, of Calvert City, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Calvert City Nursing and Rehab.
Mary was born on October 26, 1933, in Stewart County, Tennessee, to the late James Houston Chadwick and Jessie Ermine Chadwick. Her life was a rich tapestry woven from hard work, dedication to family, and a deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures.
For many years, Mary served as a devoted production worker at Kenlake Foods, where her strong work ethic and friendly demeanor brightened the days of those around her. Beyond her professional life, Mary embraced a variety of vibrant interests. As a passionate quilter and crocheter, she found joy in crafting intricate patterns and enjoyed quiet moments creating beautiful pieces for her loved ones and friends. Her adventurous spirit shone through her love for camping and traveling, allowing her to explore new places while appreciating the wonders of nature. This zest for life extended to other hobbies she cherished, such as dancing and horseback riding.
At the center of Mary's universe was her family. For her, family was everything, a truth reflected in her love for cooking during holidays and organizing gatherings that united everyone. As a nurturing mother and wife, she devoted herself to her family, creating a home filled with love and laughter. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in her heart, leaving behind a legacy of treasured memories and life lessons that will continue to guide them.
She is survived by her four daughters, Elaine Schroader (Ronnie) of Dexter, Kentucky, Debbie Poynor (Wendell) of Almo, Kentucky, Teri Nimmo (Jeff) of Benton, Kentucky, and Sandy Williams (Danny) of Gilbertsville, Kentucky; four step-daughters, Wanda Calhoun, Janice Humphries, Brenda May, and Donna Reynolds; her two step-sons, Jay Boren and Clay Boren; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her second husband, Billy Gene Bradley; her most recent husband, Douglas Boren; one son, James “H” Dennis; one sister, Neva Chadwick; her two brothers, Jessie Chadwick and Rex Chadwick; her three half-brothers, Hurley Chadwick, Clarence Chadwick, and Bradley Chadwick; and her parents, James and Jessie Chadwick.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday, January 2, 2025, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann, 1003 Poplar Street, Benton, Kentucky.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later time.
