Mary Miranda Hendrickson

Mary Miranda Hendrickson, 92, of Benton, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Mills Manor in Mayfield.

She was born on September 12, 1933, in Benton, Kentucky, to her late parents, George Elbert and Della Margaret Kim Edwards. Mary was a devoted member of Walnut Street Baptist Church in Benton and lived a life marked by hard work, care for others, and deep love for her family. She worked for many years at Ashby Chair Factory until its closure, then at Shawnee Plastics, and later as a cook at Four Seasons Restaurant in Hardin. In later years, she worked alongside her husband, supporting his contractor business. Mary found great joy in traveling, gardening, and spending time with friends and loved ones. She was known for her kindness and quiet elegance, and she especially cherished her roles as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her nurturing spirit was evident in her lifelong care of children, as she continued babysitting well into her 90s.

Mary is survived by her step-son, Alvin (Susan) Hendrickson of Georgetown; sister, Garnella Norwood of Benton; brother, Joe (Hazel) Edwards of Benton; three grandchildren, Angie Root of Metropolis, IL, Shannon (Christina) Wilford of Louisville, Danny (Amanda) Stevenson of Hickory; eight grandchildren, Caitlin, Shane, Sydney, Ella, Will, Hollie, Dustin, Jacob; and one great-granddaughter, Heavenly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Boone Hendrickson; daughter, Donna Jean Stevenson; son, Larry Wilford; two sisters, Ruth Ann Green, Sue Reed; brother, Bobby Edwards.

Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2026, in Ford Cemetery in Marshall County.
